Additional spam email filtering

YKHC has bumped up the sensitivity of the email filters due to increases in the amount of spam and phishing messages in recent weeks.

As you may already know, email is the number one method criminals and other bad actors use to access personal information. So, email security is a high priority for patient safety at YKHC and other healthcare organizations. Hopefully, you will find less spam in your Inbox with the new settings, but there is a trade-off. When someone from outside of YKHC sends you a message for the first time, that message will likely go to your Junk Email folder in Outlook. Therefore, you should periodically check your Junk Email folder to ensure you do not miss any important messages. You can usually find the Junk Email folder on the left side of your Outlook screen.

If you open or highlight a message in your Junk Email folder, you can tell Outlook that the message and future messages from the same sender or source are not junk.

You can also tell INKY that a sender is safe by clicking on the Report This Email link in the INKY banner.

Then click on the Safe button on the Report This Email screen.

INKY will add the sender’s email address to your allowed senders’ list. Then, you will receive messages from that sender in your Inbox unless there is something suspicious about a particular email, like an attachment or a link that are malicious.
