YKHC announcement regarding Juneteenth Independence Day holiday

On June 17, President Biden signed into law the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act making Juneteenth a federal holiday and June 19 the national day to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. YKHC fully supports this recognition.

For federal employees, this holiday is effective this year. For YKHC employees, given the last minute nature of this act, and with hundreds of customers to serve, YKHC will officially implement the Juneteenth holiday on June 19 next year.

However, to celebrate the Juneteenth Independence Day this year, YKHC will award all current YKHC employees a floating holiday to use before the end of the year, subject to standard approval procedures.
