Friendly reminder: Daily huddles and performance boards

Daily huddles and visual (or performance) boards are cornerstones to department communication, daily work plan development, and winning team formation.

Daily huddles are short and concise interactions conducted by all managers each and every day with staff between 8 and 10 a.m. at their performance boards.

While every department has its unique challenges, we are all part of a complex healthcare system.

Our 24-hour departments communicate issues from the prior shift to staff on the new shift and make each other aware of any safety or quality issues. Non-24 hour departments detail team assignments and resources constraints that developed overnight. All departments then report their findings on the CEO Safety and Quality Call at 10 a.m.

If you need assistance re-starting your daily huddle or with performance board development, please contact Marc Sauve at marc_sauve@ykhc.org
