Safety Message: Hazard Communication Standard

The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) is now aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). This update to the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) will provide a common and coherent approach to classifying chemicals and communicating hazard information on labels and safety data sheets.

Safety Data Sheets: SDS are required for all hazardous chemicals in the workplace, and can be found on the YKHC intranet by clicking on Links, Employee Support, Reference, and lastly Material Safety Data Sheets.
Safety Data Sheets can be found here: https://chemmanagement.ehs.com/9/58c4b5f8-9806-4de7-9a4c-ac5f62c45649/ebinder/?nas=True

Labels: All hazardous chemical containers in the workplace must be sufficiently labeled. Secondary containers must be labeled with its contents.

Safety: Know how to use and handle all chemical. Contact your department supervisor on use of chemical. For injuries seek medical attention and notify MEDCOR.
