After Work Hygiene Guidance

Employees who are in direct patient contact, which is defined as being within six feet of a patient for more than 10 minutes, should practice the following after work:

  • Make sure to wash hands thoroughly at the end of your shift before traveling home.
  • Once home, immediately take a shower. If the employee can’t shower at home, arrange to shower before going home with supervisor.
  • Launder work clothes. If the employee doesn’t have access to laundry at home, reach out to supervisor for laundry options.

Stress Management Tip

Consider limiting media exposure. While keeping informed about current events is important, too much attention can be stressful. Setting boundaries can prevent feeling overwhelmed by the situation.
