Incident Command Labor Pool & HealthStream Self-Care Course

Incident Command Labor Pool

YKHC activated the Hospital Incident Command System on March 18. With this activation, Incident Command is now making all decisions related to YKHC’s COVID-19 response.

As our response grows, more resources will be needed, including staff. One solution for this is the creating of an Incident Command labor pool. The labor pool consists of YKHC employees temporarily assigned to new, temporary jobs in support of our COVID-19 response.

Incident Command has activated Dr. Camille Humphrey as the staging unit manager and Lauren Ranft as the personnel unit leader. If staff in your department is assigned a role by Dr. Humphrey or Lauren Ranft, the employee is expected to do the job assigned. At the same time, we recognize that everyday business must continue. If there is a conflict with having staff reassigned and critical tasks that must be completed, please reach out to Dr. Humphrey.

If an employee is activated in an Incident Command labor pool position, the employee’s pay and benefits will not change. The employee will report to Incident Command until the assignment is completed.

Managers with questions or concerns about reassignment of an employee should call Incident Command at ext. 6275.

Daily Stress Management Tip

Behavioral Health has created a self-care course on HealthStream and is available to all employees. It is intended to help employees manage stress amidst the rapidly changing COVID-19 outbreak.
