Throughout the month of November, the Diabetes Prevention and Control department encouraged village clinics to participate in a contest to see who could complete the most Diabetes Risk Assessments in honor of American Diabetes Month. The goal of the Diabetes Risk Assessment is to determine if someone is at increased risk of developing diabetes. The clinic that sent in the most Diabetes Risk Assessments by the end of November would receive a prize. The Diabetes Prevention and Control Department is pleased to announce that the winner of this contest is the Mekoryuk Clinic. They screened over 13% of their population and will be receiving a box of prizes for their efforts.
