Final open enrollment event on December 8

The final Open Enrollment Fair will be held 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on December 8, in the Blueberry conference room at the hospital near the emergency room entrance.

This is the time to turn in any paperwork in person before the deadline.

What is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment allows full-time and part-time employees with benefits to make changes to their current insurance coverages and to re-enroll in Flexible Savings Accounts (Medical and Dependent Care). Insurance coverages can include health, vision, dental and supplemental insurances (i.e. Critical Illness, Accident & Hospital indemnity, Optional Life).

Changes during the Open Enrollment period may include adding or deleting dependents from plans, moving from one plan type to another, or enrolling in eligible benefits you may not have participated in previously.

Employees who do not want to make changes to their current coverages do not need to re-enroll. YKHC will simply roll over each employee’s benefit elections from this year into the next year, unless the employee indicates they want to make changes to current coverages.

Please note that if you are currently on a Flexible Savings Account (FSA) plan, you will need to re-enroll for continued coverage as FSA plans DO NOT automatically roll over in the new year.

Important announcement regarding FEHB Medical insurance, FEHB will also be discontinuing the NALC Value Plan in 2024. All the employee’s enrolled into this plan will have to re-enroll into a different plan this open enrollment.

Insurance Premiums will remain the same price for 2024. All enrollments will still be done on paper.
