Bill O`Brien, has been employed with YKHC for over 30 years! Since 2007, in his role as Senior EMS Instructor, he has conscientiously taught ETT, EMT and First Aid/CPR courses. For many employees and community members who have had the privilege of being his students, we’ve sat in his training room filled with an assortment of mannequins, equipment and gadgets that support learning activities that occur within its confines.

When asked about how he feels about his role, Bill replied, “I really enjoy teaching these classes and especially like teaching the community health aides. I hope that my students won’t have too many situations where they will need to use the skills learned in my class. However, if the need arises, they will have the skills to assist in providing relief to patients.”

You only have to visit Bill’s class momentarily to see the passion and enthusiasm that he has for his students’ success. Thank you, Bill for helping our employees and YK community residents attain and/or maintain certifications, critical documentation for employees in the healthcare industry, as well as key components for upward mobility in certain career pathways.
