During the Joint Commission visit last week, a few items were noted for correction that staff can help monitor or look out for. This week’s Safety Message covers what they pointed out:

• As a fire prevention, do not store boxes in work areas.
• Do not store any item within 18” of sprinkler heads.
• Use correct waste bins when disposing of regular trash, medical wash and/or pharmaceutical waste.

A huge shout out to staff at ER and OB that stopped us during the survey to confirm identify of the surveyor and YK staff!
