Human Resource Department introductions

With our minds on the upcoming TJC (The Joint Commission) in-person survey happening soon, the Human Resources Department is all eyes on documentation. Keeping personnel files accurate and up to date is an important part of the review. Fortunately, we are welcoming new HR Records Clerk, Alberta Enoch, to help in this endeavor.

Alberta M.M. Enoch, yup’ik name Angutevialuk, daughter of the late Lucy and David Enoch, biological parents Sally and Robert Sr. Enoch, is a welcome addition to the HR team. Alberta was raised and grew up in Tuntutuliak before moving to Bethel in early 2010s, and is married to Carl White. They have three children.

Alberta tells us, “I’ve done some filing work in the past, helping my former manager when I had time before ‘quitting time’. I like to get things straightened out, sorted through. I like to try or do my best in getting things done in time, or on time, or even before given length of time. I also like working independently”.

We asked why she likes working in HR, Alberta says, “I like working, or being a part of Human Resources, because every person in the department works as a team, no matter the title, helps each other in any way they can or know how. If someone is busy and getting overwhelmed with something, someone helps lighten the load with what they know how to do or have done before. If you’re busy or just want to concentrate with what you’re going to be doing that day, you can ask or let everybody know not to bother you too much for the day or until given time in the day. Everyone is friendly, kind, and willing to help with anything or figure out any questions you may or might have”. We are happy to hear this!

Welcome, Alberta!

Ryan Greydanus has recently joined us as a benefits specialist. Ryan graduated from BRHS in Bethel in 2004, Ryan also graduated from UAF in 2008 with an A.A. Degree in general studies. Re-joining YKHC as a new hire in HR, Ryan tells us, “ I’ve held many different jobs within YKHC from Payroll and Accounting to Medical Records and a case manager for Behavior Health. Some of the most recent jobs I had was with AVCP’s Housing Authority in the weatherization field as a weatherization specialist for six years. Also, I worked on a tug (the warhorse) and Barge (Dave Nook) with my father (Captain Scott Greydanus) for 3 years hauling mostly dirt and gravel up and down the Kuskokwim River”.

Ryan brings to the benefits specialist position the knowledge and understanding of clerical and office procedures. Having years of experience in other office settings has helped him to know what is expected in a specialist position. “There are many new procedures to learn in the benefits field for YK and I am excited for the challenge”.

We asked Ryan what he likes about the job in Human Resources, and he states, “I enjoy working in HR with all the professional talent around me. My co-workers are very friendly and have welcomed me from day one. My boss (Tamera Medley) is an excellent teacher\mentor and communicator. I strive to do my best for HR and YKHC. Thank you for giving me this opportunity”.

The Human Resources Department team is pleased to be welcoming Ryan and Alberta in to help support all the employees and families of YKHC.
