Updated employee mask requirements

As the pandemic evolves and more research is done, YKHC continues to update our requirements for staff masking, to best protect our employees and customers.

The current mask requirements are as follow:

  • N95 masks are required for all employees who have direct patient encounters.
  • A KN95 or surgical mask is required for all employees who do not directly interact with patients. If you are having incidental patient contact, such as delivering a meal, a KN95 is recommended in this situation.
  • Cloth masks and gaitors are not permitted.
  • Masks should be switched every day.

If your department needs supplies, please complete the “Covid Response Weekly PPE Request” form, which can be found here on Policy Manager, and submit via e-mail to Covid19PPERequest@ykhc.org.
