William Sullivan comes to YKHC from the suburbs of New York City after serving as a Labor Relations Manager for the Westchester Medical Center in White Plains, NY.

His 15-year career in the field of Employee/Labor Relations has brought him to Bethel with an abundance of experience and diversity. His skills include, but are not limited to conflict resolution, contract negotiation/interpretation and grievance handling for labor and management. He has adjudicated those issues for both sides, which gives him a unique perspective and understanding of the mindset and problems confronting managers and staff.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Purchase. His career goal is to ascend to the position of Director of Labor Relations when he returns to New York in the distant future. Attending UAF this fall in pursuit of a Master’s degree and learning about and understanding the native culture of Alaska are his educational goals. In his spare time, William competes in marathons and is an Ironman triathlete. 

William is a veteran of the United States Navy and a father of three children—two sons and a daughter.
