Please help us take a moment to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate all of our EMS responders.
What does the EMS system look like for the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta? It consists of: First Responders, Community Health Aides, Nurse Triage line, Trooper and Bethel Police Dispatch, LifeMed, Bethel Fire Department, Village Police Officers, Tribal Police Officers, Emergency Department, and Good Samaritans like you.
An emergency can be the patient/s scariest moments of their lives – vehicle crashes, cardiac arrest, loss of consciousness, seizures, stroke, violent attacks. It’s even harder when responding to a loved one.
COVID-19 added a layer of urgency and worry to their already stressful jobs. Yet they still answer the call. We are grateful to them this week, and every week.

EMT class tours Bethel Fire Department to learn about Ambulance operations, body mechanics and practice lifting and moving with stretchers and stairchairs. 
EMT class tours LifeMed hangar to learn about the medevac system. 
EMS student learns and practices airway management skills. 
Community Health Aides train and practice trauma assessment with spinal precautions.
