Introducing The New Kronos

In the past year you have heard Accounting, Payroll and Human Resources discuss the new Kronos Workforce Dimensions Systems that YK purchased and was in the process of implementing. The first paychecks issued in FY 2020 will come out the new system. This is a completely new and different system than the Kronos version that we currently use. Some of the changes and enhancements include:

  • Biometric Scanning: Instead of punching in your numbers when you clock in you will use a fingerprint scanner as the primary method of time keeping. All new hires are currently being added to the Biometric system. Existing employees will be added throughout the month of September. Hourly (non-Exempt) TDY employees will now use the Kronos system to clock in.
  • Enhance employee information: The new system has a more modern feel with windows and tiles that can be modified to suit your personal needs.
  • Enhanced Reporting: Our previous Kronos system was a custom system that had a lot of broken, custom reports. Our new system is an off-the-shelf product that improves efficiency with easier knowledge transfer and we will receive stronger technical support from the company due to the off-the-shelf product.
  • Improved attendance tracking: Easier reporting information for both employees and managers allowing for a more-timely and consistent experience.
  • Improved interoperability between systems: As part of our Lean Initiative we looked for all of the ways that we could integrate Kronos with our other accounting and HR systems such as Peoplesoft and Taleo. These integrations will reduce numerous hours of duplicated work and improve the accuracy of the information being used.
  • Cloud-based system: Allows for continual enhancements and improvements freeing up IT and other departments from managing upgrades and keeps the system more current.
