Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) is a nation-wide event that is hosted by the American Dental Association to help provide access to care for underserved children. Each year approximately 6,500 dental providers and 30,000 team members team up to provide dental care to over 300,000 children and we are proud to be a part of the program.
St. Mary’s GKAS day was on February 27, where 11 children were seen. The providers included Dental Health Aide Therapist Practitioner Renee Cheemuk, Dental Assistant Kristina Sheldon, Dr. Camille Humphrey, and Dental Assistant Elle (Alvina) McCasland.
Bethel hosted a GKAS day on March 6, with four dentists, three dental health aide therapists, and two dental student externs to see 33 children.
Emmonak GKAS day was on March 27 and 28 where we saw 23 children on the first day and 42 children on the second day. Providers included DHATs Jerilyn Glenn and Wilma Uisok, Dr. Camille Humphrey and Dental assistants Andrea Prince, Dylani Ayunerak, Anastasia Streb, and Kiera Waska.
