Recognition of Direct Care Provider Jamie Phillip

Direct Care Provider Jamie Phillip

Developmental Disabilities Services would like to congratulate Jamie Phillip for completing the Direct Support Professional Pilot Program with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals. She took on this challenge in August 2022 and completed the course in 2024, three months ahead of the scheduled completion date of June 2024! The first Direct Support Professional testimonials were completed by her on February 15 and the second testimonials on February 22. On March 27, she completed her final testimonials. These testimonials are experiences using the code of ethics while working with the individuals who need direct care services.

Jamie joined our team in 2019 to work as a Direct Support Professional to serve in giving support to an individual who experiences a complex medical condition and developmental delay. Jamie is compassionate and caring and treats the individual as her own. She continues to help the individual by improving mobility and the living skill that challenges the individual on a daily basis. She follows the mission statement through and through, “Working together to provide excellent service to people who experience intellectual or developmental disability.” We are thankful for Jamie for continuing to be a great team member and a leader.  Congratulations Jamie on completing the DSP I, II, and III, we appreciate you!

A Direct Support Professional provides direct support to assigned individuals with developmental disabilities, the direct support staff coordinates village-based services, assists individuals in accessing resources, and works with local tribal governments to assure that the individual is safe and well and meets with individual and family to assist in successfully addressing issues of self-sufficiency.
