COVID vaccine available and encouraged for all employees

The new, fall 2023 COVID vaccine is available for YKHC employees through employee health.

Any employee who has not received or has not completed their primary series should receive this new vaccine to be in compliance with YKHC COVID vaccination policy.

‌The new vaccine is not mandatory for employees who have completed their initial series of COVID vaccines but is strongly recommended for all YKHC employees.

‌The COVID vaccine can help protect you against the strains of the COVID virus that are circulating right now. Vaccination decreases the likelihood you will become seriously ill with COVID or experience potentially severe long-term effects of an infection. People who receive the updated COVID vaccine are less likely to spread it to others, reducing the impact of the virus on our more vulnerable populations, such as elders, babies and the immunocompromised.

Bethel-based employees who would like to receive the COVID vaccine through Employee Health will need to complete the pre-consent form and schedule an appointment through Immuware

Employee COVID vaccines are not available through walk-in appointments and not available in the Gathering Place.

‌Village-based employees—COVID vaccines will be shipped to villages in the upcoming weeks. Village-based employees will be able to arrange to receive the vaccine once it arrives.

‌If you are interested in the vaccine but tested positive for COVID in the past three months, please speak to Employee Health or your healthcare provider to determine the best time for you to receive the vaccine.

‌Reminder: The 2023/24 influenza vaccine is required for all employees by Oct. 31 and can be administered at the same time as the new COVID vaccine. Please review this article for details.)
