When an email is encrypted, it ensures there is no unauthorized access to email content you are exchanging and sending out.

If you are sending an email within YKHC, the email is automatically encrypted.

However, if you are sending an email that contains any protected health information to someone outside of the organization, please ensure that your emails are encrypted.

To encrypt an email, put one of the words in the subject line in parenthesis ( )

• (Encrypt)
• (Patient)
• (PHI)
• (Consult)
• (HIPAA)
