Deanna Pavil promoted to Primary Care Administrator

I am excited to share that Deanna Pavil, RN, has been promoted to the role of YKDRH Primary Care Administrator. In this position, Deanna will be overseeing the Outpatient Clinic, Care Management, ANMC Field Clinics, Women’s Health, the Itinerant Program and the Access to Collaborative (ACT) Treatment program.

Deanna has over 14 years of experience with YKHC and brings a wealth of knowledge to this new role that will help us continue forward in improving our mission of Working Together to Achieve Excellent Health. Congratulations Deanna!

Here’s a bit more about Deanna: “I was born and raised in Bethel to Charles and Sharon Rodgers. Our family ties are mostly in Bethel, Kalskag, and Napaskiak. In my free time I enjoy weekends at our cabin, running, subsistence hunting and gathering, and traveling with my husband and children to warm, sunny beaches.

I began my YK career 14 years ago as a summer hire in medical records. Since then I’ve held various roles ranging from data entry tech, CNA, and RN. Most recently I served as the nurse manager of outpatient clinics for 3 years. Starting off as a floor nurse in outpatient, I have been able to use my experience to aid me in making decisions in regards to improving patient experience and advocating for my staff. My main focus has always been improving patient care, and giving quality care. It’s very fulfilling to be able to serve my people and give back to my community. I look forward to being able to continue to do so in this new role.”

Please help me thank Kevin Krenek, NP, for his long-standing role as the Interim Outpatient Clinics Director. He has done an outstanding job seeing us all through the COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership throughout the constant changes in physical space, telehealth, testing, vaccinations, PPE and bringing patients back in person has been steadfast and resilient. Through Kevin’s leadership Outpatient Clinics has worked with other providers to start procedure clinics in outpatient clinic and he took on the process owner role in our recent Rapid Process Improvement Workshop decreasing rework in our follow-up queues and improving the time it takes to release patient appointments. Thank you, Kevin, for your leadership!
