Safety Message: Five safety tips for healthcare workers

1.        Take precautions to avoid bloodborne pathogens. Take necessary safeguards and wear personal protective equipment to avoid the infection. Proper wear of gowns, gloves, basic safety goggles, and face shields keep the body fluids away from the worker’s skin.

2.        Be careful with sharps injuries: Follow a proper disposal system for many sharps and infectious waste products. Furthermore, employees must be more cautious when handling distinct items because sharps incidents usually raise the threat of infectious diseases.

3.       Use proper devices to reduce risk of musculoskeletal injuries: Use assistive devices such as slide bed linens, slings, and digital hoists whenever you can. Or use the right body techniques for reducing the chance of accidents.

4.        Review procedures on employee safety against chemical hazards. Get trained and be familiar with how to handle unsafe substances safely.

5.        Review fire safety: Know the fire response plan, know R.A.C.E and P.A.S.S, and your exit routes.
