Volunteers needed for test program encouraging cancer screening

The Research Department is working on a colorectal cancer control program (CRCCP) project pilot for patient reminders/outreach. This is a program improvement project funded through ANTHC by the CDC.

The goal of this pilot project is to encourage those who are between 40 and 44 and due/eligible for colorectal cancer screening to get screened. We are testing out a patient reminder and test kit delivery process (door to door delivery of test kit and pick up here in Bethel and a mail out and drop off to village clinic/SRC for those outside of Bethel).

We are looking for any YKHC employees, ages 40-44 years old, (working at any YKHC location) who would be interested in helping us test our process. Volunteers will be asked for their feedback on patient letters, patient instructions, and test kit process.  If eligible, they can use the test kit for their colorectal screening. They will be asked for feedback via phone and/or email. Total time commitment may be 5 – 10 minutes.

All volunteers will be entered into a drawing to win a small prize.

If you are interested in helping out our department or just have questions, please reach out to ColonHealth@ykhc.org.
