Direct Care Provider Spotlight: Jamie Phillip

Jamie Phillip has been working in Kwigillingok as a Direct Care Provider for 3 ½ years and has come a very long way. She is a great advocate for her client, goes above and beyond for her care for her client. She instills YKHC’s values into her position on a daily basis. Her work ethic is phenomenal as well.

Early this year, she began her two-year training journey with the Senior and Disabilities Services and UAA Centers for Human Development called “Direct Support Professional Pilot Program” to learn more about Developmental Disabilities and all that it consists of. In this, the instructors recognized her as the most remote and highly dedicated participant! The Advisory Council members that represent many agencies across the State of Alaska were especially taken with Jamie’s story, excitement, enthusiasm and dedication. They would like to be able to share Jamie’s training story in a federal report that will be completed on June 30, 2023.

This is amazing and a great training opportunity that our DSPs are fortunate to be able to attend! Keep up the great work Jamie!
