An open insurance enrollment and benefits fair will be hosted Monday, November 7, to Thursday, November 10. This is the time to make changes to your health insurance, add/remove health insurance or add/remove dependents.  

Do not miss this opportunity to sign up and meet one-on-one with industry experts who will be here to help you navigate the insurance maze and answer any questions you may have. The fair time and locations are as follows

Monday – Wednesday, November 7- 9 – Blueberry Room from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday, November 10 – CHSB Building Second floor HR Classroom. 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Group presentations will be held at noon on each day of the fair.

The healthcare landscape has changed significantly over the last few years due to COVID-19, and we continue to navigate through the impact today. When the pandemic hit in 2020, patients either delayed or cancelled care due to healthcare shutdowns nationwide. The delay resulted in medical conditions going undiagnosed or chronic conditions worsening.  

In 2021/2022 as daily activities resumed, those postponed procedures resurrected and resulted in a spike in healthcare spend.  

The Federal Employee Health Benefits (Yukon Kuskokwim’s Health Insurance platform) is not immune to increases in healthcare costs.  Historically, the average increases were 3 -5%.  For 2023, however, the average increase is closer to 8.5%, which is what we are seeing nationwide.

Although the plan costs increases are averaging 8.5%, employees will continue to have access to a wide array of benefit options designed to meet your needs and the needs of your loved ones.
