Recognizing Audrey Conrad and Brandon Nelson

Congratulations to Diabetes Prevention and Control department staff members, Audrey Conrad and Brandon Nelson.

Audrey Conrad is a Registered Dietitian/Clinical Diabetes Educator and has achieved the Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) designation. Audrey has worked for YKHC since October 2020. A Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is a health professional who has comprehensive knowledge of and experience in diabetes prevention, prediabetes and diabetes management. The CDCES credential is held by Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), Registered Nurses, and other health professionals who participate as members of the diabetes care team. RDNs represent 42% of the almost 19,900 active CDCESs! Congratulations Audrey!

Brandon Nelson is an Advanced Practice Family Nurse Practitioner and has achieved the designation of Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management. Brandon has worked for YKHC since January 2018. A person holding the BC-ADM credential is able to skillfully manage complex patient needs and assists patients with their therapeutic problem-solving. The BC-ADM certificate can be held by an RN or RD with a graduate degree, RPh/PharmD, PA or MD/DO who meet practice criteria and successfully pass the BC-ADM exam. Less than 5% of Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists hold this certificate.  Congratulations Brandon!
