This week’s safety message overview of EOC questions is for nursing questions and observation. Below are the FAQs
- Crash cart locked with tag intact, ready for use and current log.
- Medications locked or under constant surveillance.
- All medications labeled and not expired.
- Opened multi-dose vials initialed & marked with date opened.
- No open multi-dose expired (28 days).
- All supplies are not past the expiration date.
- All drugs needing refrigeration are stored properly.
- No food or open food containers at nurses station.
- Refrigerator thermometer (36-40⁰F) and documented on daily log.

ask name, social, birthday or medical record #; check wristband - Can staff verbalize or identify unapproved abbreviations?

Stop medication, assess patient, notify physician, list as allergy in EHR
