Ransomware Threat Advisory

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have credible information of an increased and imminent cybercrime threat to U.S. hospitals and healthcare providers.

YKHC expects ransomware attacks will come through email, so take these steps:

1. Never open an attachment in an email you were not expecting to receive. Even if you recognize the sender, do not open attachments you were not expecting to receive. Call the sender to verify they sent you an attachment before opening it.

2. Never click on a link in an email you were not expecting to receive. Simply visiting a bad website can infect YKHC with ransomware. So, even if you recognize the sender, do not click on links you were not expecting to receive. Call the sender to verify they sent you a link before opening it.
