This week’s safety session covers Code Orange, a hazardous spill and or release, and what do do in the event of one:
- Report all biological or Hazmat spills to Safety & Security immediately
- Hospital security phone number: 543-6603 or 543-6050
- Safety & Security to contact the Administrator-On-Call and Bethel Fire Department.
- Alert and evacuate all individuals in the immediate area.
- Hospital staff will dial x-7225 #11, and say “Attention, attention, there is a CODE ORANGE in <<name department or location>>”. Repeat twice.
- Exit the area immediately, seal off the area by shutting all entrances/exits to the area.
- Do not return to location, all clear will be given by Bethel Fire Department with Hospital Incident Commander.
- Village Clinics, contact village/ tribal police and OEHE.
- SRC contact maintenance department and village police.
