Maintenance Tips for Personal Flotation Devices (PFD)

The best Personal Flotation Device (PFD) is the one you wear. Here are some PFD maintenance tips to help make sure you have a safe and enjoyable boating season:

·         Check the snaps, hooks, pockets, zippers, tightening latches to make sure they are working properly.

·         Test your PFD, one or two times per year, to make sure you float by wearing it in the water.

·         Rinse your PFD with fresh water, especially if your PFD has been in salt water.

·         Allow your PFD to air-dry (in a warm dry place, out of direct sunlight)

By taking good care of your PFDs you can prevent the growth of mold and mildew and extend the life of your favorite items.
