Tips for Working Remotely from Home

Vidyo is a secure tool for face-time and/or screen-sharing with your colleagues while working remotely. It is accessible from a number of devices, such as desktop computers, laptops, smart phones, tablets, and is Mac and PC friendly. You can invite your team to regular huddles or large group meetings in your personal “Vidyo Room” or if you’re concerned about security you can just as easily generate New Rooms so that only the people you invite know about it. You don’t have to be a YK employee to use Vidyo either. Guests can participate without an account, portal information, and in some cases without even downloading the app. So if you end up having a really large group of 30+ try Presentation Mode to be able to control unwanted background noise. Invitations to join or participate in a Vidyo meeting can be sent via Outlookmobile device, or OWA for thin-clients.  Click here for best practices to optimize your VTC experience.

Additionally, the IT department has been making changes to the HEAT homepage to make it easier to work remotely. Consider it the intranet for those who cannot connect to the intranet. It has announcements with tips/tricks for working at home and convenient links to all of the cloud-based websites that can be accessed from off the network. The only website you need to remember is “ykhc.saasit.com”. From there you can get anywhere.
