Lab Week at YKHC this year will be celebrated by the medical technologists (4 yr degrees), medical laboratory technicians (2 yr degrees), lab assistants and phlebotomists that work and reside in Bethel. We process approximately 21,000 specimens a month!

The lab is used by physicians in the diagnosing and treatment of patients. Some of the departments are hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank, microbiology and serology. Most techs are trained in every area and keep a license allowing them to work.

The lab is also accredited by the College of American Pathologists every year, by self inspection and on-site inspection.
