Rural Alaska Honors Institute offers opportunity for Alaska Native and rural Alaskan high school students

If you know a Alaska Native or rural Alaskan high school junior or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA, here’s another opportunity from the Rural Alaska Honors Institute (RAHI.)

Valued at $7500 and at no cost to students, RAHI is a college preparation program for juniors and seniors throughout rural Alaska. RAHI has served over 1800 students since 1983, with over 200 alumni currently enrolled in colleges throughout Alaska and the US.

RAHI is a free six-week college exploration program offered to Alaska Native and rural Alaskan students with at least a 3.0 GPA following the completion of their junior or senior year of high school. All expenses are paid (including travel) for successful applicants.

Dates: May 30th-July 14th, 2023

Credits earned: 8-11 credits

Courses: Alaska Native Dance, Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Education, Health Careers, Indigenous Cultures of Alaska and more!  Please note that courses are subject to change

Location: UAF’s Troth Yeddha’ campus

RAHI weekend schedule: Adventures in the interior and volunteering for local organizations.

RAHI applications are due by Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
