YKHC Furlough will Be Extended

Dear Team,

In late April and early May, based on our low customer census and financial projections, YKHC was forced to reduce our workforce and furlough staff for a period of four weeks.

As YKHC continues to analyze the impact of COVID-19 on our operational and financial situation, the furlough period is being extended for approximately one month. The furlough period will now extend through Saturday, July 4, 2020. Last week Human Resources notified all affected employees by phone call and followed up with a letter.

During the extended furlough period, employment status will continue to be evaluated and may change depending on the circumstances. At the end of the extended furlough period, if the furlough is not extended again, impacted employees will be permanently laid off. We will be notifying affected employees of any changes by the end of the furlough period.

As was previously communicated, employees on furlough will continue to have health and benefit premiums paid by YKHC during this time. And although PTO cannot be used by employees on furlough, PTO accrual balances will remain intact. As always, employees may terminate their employment voluntarily pursuant to YKHC’s at-will employment policy. Employees who wish to resign and receive the balance of their PTO in lump sum, subject to applicable deductions, are able to do so.

Quyana to all staff for your continued efforts during this difficult time.

Dan Winkleman, President & CEO
