As of March 2020 we have entered the 18-36 month survey eligibility range and The Joint Commission (TJC) is now eligible to conduct an unannounced on-site inspection at YKHC.

In preparation for an on-site inspection by TJC, the Performance Improvement (PI) Department has put together a booklet that is called “The Joint Commission Reference Guide” Rev. 01-20

These booklets can help all direct care staff with some basic questions that may come up during an encounter with a surveyor.  All the patient care units should have at least 1 booklet that can be referenced, and all the staff should be knowledgeable about the contents of the booklet.  We encourage all the patient care supervisors to use the booklets to review the information with their staff periodically. These reviews could be done by doing “TJC Trivia” with the staff.
