Summer Hire Spotlight: Bryce Langlie

This week we feature Bryce Langlie, one of many summer hires helping out in the various departments while gaining work experience and exposure to the many career options at YKHC. Bryce has lived in Bethel all his life. He is assigned to Human Resources and will be a junior at Galena High School in the new school year. Learn about Bryce in his own words.

What have you learned from working as a summer hire?

I have learned about the different departments and their roles at YKHC. Every department is important to the success of YKHC. The best part of working at HR is the people.

What did you learn in school that was helpful in your work assignments in HR?

I worked with customers when I was a student hire at my school. This experience comes in very useful with my assignments in HR, especially being at the front desk and greeting and helping people as they come in and/or over the phone.

Any thoughts/advice for students who may be aspiring to pursue a summer job?

Students should focus on getting good grades and developing good work ethic like dependability, reliability, productivity, cooperation, teamwork, and discipline.

What would you like to be when you grow up?

I love to learn so I will learn as much as I can and with everything possible as a summer hire and when I attend college. At this point, I have yet to decide what I would like to be when I grow up.
