You likely have heard of the Angyaq Quality System, YKHC’s system for continuous quality improvement. But have you seen it in action? Have you heard from actual YKHC department managers who have been learning about Lean and working on implementing Lean practices to improve real issues they face in providing excellent service?  Now you can.

If this sounds interesting, stop into the Aspiaq event Friday, July 19, at 1 p.m. in Blueberry Conference Room or via Zoom. This meeting is a unique opportunity to witness how the Angyaq Quality System leadership skills and tools are being used by your peers.

Here is a tentative agenda: 

Presentations on current projects — Be inspired by (or just learn more about) two current improvement projects happening at YKHC.

• Aniak Sub-Region First Responders Project – A cross-sectional team of employees is working with communities in our region to improve the emergency response in their communities
• Accelerating VTC Improvement Project – This team is looking at ways to improve the virtual teleconference appointment experience for all involved.

Managers mixer — All employees are welcome but we especially encourage any managers to attend this new “Manager’s Mixer”, an open-house style event showcasing presentations by individuals who have completed the Lean for Leaders course. Come speak one-on-one in a casual environment with your peers, find out what they learned and what ideas they are implementing. You are sure to leave with a good idea you can take back to your team.  Plus, we will have snacks for those attending!
