Rabies vaccination clinic at CHSB on June 1

YKHC is offering free rabies vaccinations for your pets from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 1, in the parking lot of the CHSB.

Rabies is always present at low levels in the YK region’s fox population. We recommend vaccinating pets (dogs, cats, ferrets) against rabies when they are at least three months old, followed by a booster one year later. After the initial two vaccinations, they should receive a booster every 1-3 years (depending on if it’s a 1 or 3-year vaccine. YKHC OEHE, Bethel Friends of Canines (BFK9) and the UAF Veterinarian Dr. Laurie Meythaler-Mullins all use 3-year vaccines provided by the State of Alaska.)

If your pet is not up to date on their rabies vaccines, stop by! Contact OEHE with questions at 907-543-6420.
