After months of planning and working with Cerner, on November 9, 2019 the IT-RAVEN department implemented a code upgrade taking our Cerner Millennium platform to 2018.01.10 code level. As one of the first Cerner clients to be upgraded to .10, there has been some technical difficulties. Currently, IT-RAVEN is working with Cerner to resolve approximately 30 residual issues across multiple applications.
System code upgrades are complex projects on their own and this one even more so because the overall project also included new hardware, a new operating system, and a database migration. Below are some of the stats related to this project that started May 3, 2019 and went live on November 9, 2019.
- 1257 Tiger Texts between all of IT-RAVEN staff in the 48 hours following the start of the upgrade, 310 of those texts taking place in the first 24 hours
- 27 Solution Assessment Calls with Cerner
- 28 Spreadsheets divided among 10 people
- 17 Bridge Calls between November 10, 2019 and January 31, 2020
- Longest bridge call: 14 consecutive hours
- 65 meetings
- Three Saturdays worked
