Diabetes Risk Test

Join the Diabetes Prevention and Control Department to recognize November as American Diabetes Month by raising awareness about diabetes in your communities. Diabetes is a progressive chronic disease that increases the risk of serious health complications such as: blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, and loss of toes, feet, or legs. Currently, over 30 million people or one out of every ten people are affected by diabetes and over 84 million people or one out of three adults have pre-diabetes.

Since it is American Diabetes Month, now is an ideal time to know your risk of developing diabetes by completing the Diabetes Risk Test. If you happen to have a score of five or higher after completing the Diabetes Risk Test, please contact the Diabetes Prevention and Control Department at 907-543-6133 and we will order labs to further assess your diabetes status.

On November 14, the YKHC Cafeteria will be offering healthy meal choices to celebrate World Diabetes Day. If you are in Bethel, stop by the cafeteria for a healthy lunch or dinner!
