Tobacco-Free Campus Floor Mats Have Arrived

The long awaited and anticipated custom YKHC Tobacco Free floor mats have arrived in Bethel. We will begin distribution of the floor mats, along with other Tobacco Free campus resources this Friday.  In a special agreement with our vendor all clinics outside of Bethel will receive one floor mat dropped shipped directly to the clinic.  If you have not received a floor mat by June 21 please contact our office at NicotineControl@ykhc.org and let us know.

I would also like to extend a huge thank you to our Public Relations team.  We experienced several challenges and delays with this special order, but despite the hurdles our PR team demonstrated the true Alaskan spirit and continued to work on this project until our vision was achieved.  Thanks PR!

Tobacco Free campus policies improve the health of our communities.  They work by protecting the public from secondhand smoke exposure and support people in quitting tobacco and staying quit.  If you would like to provide comments or suggestions on the Tobacco Free campus policy please reach out to our department NicotineControl@ykhc.org.  We are forming a committee that will meet quarterly to address concerns and highlight successes to support and improve the policy.  We encourage all employees to participate.

Victoria Galanopoulos, Tobacco Prevention & Cessation Coordinator
