Raffle Winners for YKHC Clean-Up Green Up 2019

On May 23, the Nicotine Cessation and Prevention Department (NCPD) encouraged all employees of YKHC to continue the YKHC Clean-Up Green Up for another two weeks with the participants being entered into a raffle for two $50.00 gift certificates.

Today, NCPD would like to announce that two participants from the Women’s Health Grant Staff have won! The two participants noted that the connecting paths between the Pre-Maternal Center and YKHC’s main campus accumulates debris on a regular basis. The participants collected numerous cigarette butts as well as a plastic tarp, a soiled box, aluminum cans, a speeding sign, and empty food containers such as potato chip bags. They also stated that the benefit of being tobacco-free allowed them the opportunity to have healthy lungs that, in turn, supports our physically activity.

NCPD would like to congratulate all participants and remind you that YKHC went tobacco-free on February 5, 2018 in order to fulfill our mission to improve the health of the individuals and communities we serve. This means all forms of tobacco are prohibited on all campus properties.

NCPD offers free Nicotine Cessation Counseling services, in Yupik and English, to anyone 12 years and older. Our office is located right next to the pharmacy in the hospital and we are open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. You can call our office at 907-543-6312 as well as 1-800-473-3321 extension 6312
